At PepsiCo Australia & New Zealand, we are committed to playing a responsible and supportive role in the health and wellness of Australians & New Zealanders. We recognise our responsibility and will continue to do our part to make a meaningful and lasting difference.

Australians and New Zealanders are more concerned than ever about their health and wellness and are looking to achieve a balanced diet through healthy lifestyle choices. Our goal is to provide a range of high quality food and beverage products, from simple treats to healthier offerings. We continue to make tremendous strides in transforming our portfolio to create products that fit into healthy, active lifestyles. We have reformulated many of our existing products to reduce saturated fat, sodium and added sugars. In other cases we have increased the whole grain, fibre and micronutrient content of our products.

PepsiCo Australia & New Zealand adheres to voluntary industry wide marketing practices which include specific guidelines for advertising to children which are consistent with our overall global strategy. We sell a range of products that meet the nutrition criteria of the various State Government school canteen strategies.

Refer PepsiCo ANZ Policy on Responsible Advertising to Children.

PepsiCo Australia & New Zealand is proud to participate in the Australian Government’s Healthy Food Partnership, a cross-sector, voluntary initiative aimed at cooperatively tackling obesity, encouraging healthy eating and making positive changes in the food industry. It is a partnership between Government, the public health sector and the food industry with the aim of improving dietary habits and helping Australians to make healthier choices. A key focus of the partnership is around improving consumer knowledge on better food choices, core food groups, energy intakes and portion size. There are multiple initiatives and actions under the partnership.

Health Star Rating

he Health Star Rating (HSR) is a voluntary front-of-pack labelling system that rates the overall nutritional profile of packaged food, and assigns it a rating from ½ a star to 5 stars. It provides a quick, easy, standard way to compare similar packaged foods. The more stars, the healthier the choice.

The Health Star Rating system is a Government backed trans-Tasman, voluntary system developed in collaboration with public health experts, the food industry and consumer groups.

The Health Star Ratings for all of our snacks are available on our website. Please refer to the following downloads:

Refer to Australia Snacks HSR or New Zealand Snacks HSR

PepsiCo Australia & New Zealand supports the Health Star Rating scheme and is currently transitioning all of our packaging to feature the health star rating on the front of pack. We will monitor the progress of the initiative to ensure we continue to meet the needs of our consumers. The Health Star Rating complements existing nutrition information already on pack, such as the Nutrition Information Panel and %Daily Intake labelling.

Daily Intake guide (%DI)

The HSR system complements other information we provide for our products, like the nutrition information panel and the Daily Intake Guide (%DI). We will continue to provide the Daily Intake guide (%DI) on the front of all of our packs.

The %DI values are based on daily intakes, which are a set of government-approved reference values for acceptable intake of energy, protein, fat, saturated fat, carbohydrates, sugars, fibre and sodium. The %DI values show the amount (as a percentage) that one serving of a food contributes to your overall Daily Intake.
